Guest Post: Meghan O’Brien, Aromahead Graduate

by Maria on April 23, 2009

Today we’re featuring guest poster Meghan O’Brien, graduate of the Aromahead Institute Aromatherapy Certification Program, levels one and two. Take it away Meghan!

My name is Meghan O’Brien and I am Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Aromatherapist.  I have a private massage and aromatherapy consulting practice in Sarasota, Florida.  I graduated from Sarasota School of Massage in December of 2005.

In the fall of 2006 I began formal education in aromatherapy.  For the past three years I have been studying at the Aromahead Institute with Andrea Butje.  In the fall of 2007 I received a 200-hour Certification from NAHA in Aromatherapy at the Aromahead Institute.

A large part of my aromatherapy education is in the theory and practice of aromatherapy, focusing on the chemical components of essential oils and their therapeutic effects on the body.  I also enjoy studying and researching the importance of essential oils and carrier oils that have been organically grown and how detrimental herbicides, pesticides and synthetic constituents are to our bodies.

I am currently continuing my education in aromatherapy, studying in advanced and scholar aromatherapy classes while working toward 400-hour Aromatherapy Certification with AIA at the Aromahead Institute.

Aromahead GraduateFurthermore, I am now dedicating my career to Obrien Organics, Inc. manufacturing and retailing high quality body care products and accessories.  I have always taken a great interest in natural science all my life. I feel an unsurpassed respect for Mother Nature and the healing power of earth and plants.  Therefore, I take great pride in the products that I manufacture.

Nearly all my ingredients are 100 percent certified organic, unsprayed or wild crafted and unrefined.  These criteria ensure that the plants still carry the essence of Earth, and their natural therapeutic properties have not been jeopardized.  I also prefer to source most of my ingredients myself from all over the world.  For me, the sourcing process creates a very spiritual connection to the plants and people involved in gathering, extracting and handling the material–as well as to their culture.

Obrien Organics products do not contain any synthetic or harsh preservatives, emulsifiers, colors, dyes, or petroleum products.  The ultimate goal is to manufacture a product that is not only highly therapeutic and beneficial to your body, but also promotes the abundance of your overall well-being.

Much Love,
Meghan O’Brien

It made me happy just reading about lavender. I had never heard of hydrosols before. They sound wonderful, healthy and natural and calming. I would love to try hydrosols. I’d also love to use the natural scented body butters. What a lot of great products you carry. Thanks!
