I want to introduce you to Herbert Strobl, an amazing essential oil distiller who runs a business called Botanical Specialties.
Herbert’s distillery is located in the Canadian portion of the Cascade mountain range facing the Pacific Ocean. He runs a certified organic essential oil herb farm and distillery.
Herbert is a Horticultural Engineer from Austria who cares deeply for plants and trees. Most of the oils Herbert distills are from certified organically grown crops.
Botanical Specialties also produces very interesting native oils that are wild-crafted locally from plants growing at high elevation in the surrounding mountains. The mountain soil (max 6″) is from a glacier outwash left behind from the last ice age, and is perfect for producing aromatic crops.
Botanical Specialties grows on virgin land that has never been farmed before. They produce about 30 different therapeutic-grade oils, most for custom orders.
Even their distillery is made of food-grade stainless steel and glass. Their products include fresh and dried herbs, dried high-grade lavender flowers, liquid extracts (mainly Arnica) and essential oils. They sell and ship their oils worldwide.

I took a trip to visit Herbert a few years ago. He was very gracious and generous with his knowledge. The land was spectacular!
