Many massage therapists just love marula oil for massage, because of its silky consistency and the benefits it holds for a wide range of skin conditions.
Marula oil is a light and lovely South African carrier oil. It has a gentle aroma that easily blends with most essential oils, which is just another reason people love using marula oil for massage.
Here’s a post I wrote last year about marula oil. Check it out to learn about the hard work (done by hand!) that goes into producing even a small amount. If you’d like to get some of your own, I suggest buying from Aromatics International, which sells organic, unrefined marula oil. Keeping the oil unrefined offers more therapeutic benefits (and not adulterating the product honors the work of the South African women who put such effort into its creation).
If you’re interested in different carrier oils and butters, here’s another post that covers avocado oil, baobab oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil, kombo butter, kpangnan butter, marula oil, West African shea butter, tamanu oil and palm kernel oil.
