There are many wonderful sources for free photos that you can use for your blog, newsletters, website and social media sites.
I have as much fun finding free photos for my blog and newsletter as I do actually writing the content! Here are my four favorite sites for free images:
1. Flickr Free Use Photo Group: If you simply join this group, you can use any of the photos, and you can offer some of your own for others to use. I just added some aromatic plants to the pool of photos. This picture of Japanese women and the bamboo forest is from the free Flickr group.
2. MorgueFile free photos: They have 5000 free photos and you can easily search for the categories you’re looking for. I searched “lavender” and came up with over 150 photos for free. There is a wide range of excellent photos on this site.

3. stock.xchng: Simply sign up with their site–for free!–and you’re given easy access to over 350,000 stock photos! The range of images is impressive!

4. Open clip Art Library: An impressive range of artists contribute to the free clip art on this site–for anyone to use at no cost!

Thanks Andrea! I too spend a lot of enjoyable time searching for just the right photo for blogs and newsletters. But, I have been buying them from istock. I so much appreciate your sharing these links!! Thanks very much.
Thank you sooo much for these awesome free photo resources~!! I appreciate it so much. I’ve search the web looking for such resources for my natural skincare blog and facebook page to no avail and have been taking my own photos which is very time consuming and limiting. This will make my life so much easier. Thank you so much, Andrea. And, btw, I LOVE all the info you you post and I love essential oils and aromatheraphy~!!!
I love all these resources, and it’s important to note them as you can get into some real trouble using copyrighted images.
This afternoon I’m working on next week’s blog post and just pulled a funny image from MorgueFile!
Thanks for a great blog post!
