Today is not my usual day. It’s the beginning of a month-long distiller trip!
Today I will be arriving in Abu Dhabi, one of the seven United Arab Emirates, to visit a frankincense distiller! Not only will I get to meet the people behind the process of producing Frankincense essential oil, but I’ll get to see literal mounds of resin! (Can you imagine how aromatic it will be?)
Next up, I’m off to the beautiful Seychelle Islands (in the Indian ocean near Madagascar) to visit a cinnamon distiller and participate in a two-week natural perfumery class. Okay, okay, a few incredible beaches and botanical gardens are in the plans….
The last part of the month takes me to the northern part of South Africa to visit several distillers (tea tree, citrus essences, and the production of absolutes) and hopefully gaze into the eyes of a few elephants and giraffes along the way.
More soon…. but for now you can stay tuned to Aromahead’s Facebook page for pictures and updates along the way!
