Based on principles of Chinese medicine, certain points on the body can be treated with finger or thumb pressure to create immediate results. Learn where to apply pressure for specific acpuncture points to alliviate common concerns such as headaches, muscle tension and pain, fatigue, pms, and more.

Class includes pictures of every point discussed, as well as video demonstrations of applying acupressure.  Massage Therapists can learn how to integrate acupressure into most types of massage therapy.  All demonstrations are performed on a massage table in order to show how this can be done.

About the Author

The Acupressure Fundamentals Class is written by Cindy Black, L.Ac. and edited by Andrea Butje. Cindy Black is an Acupuncture Physician, Diplomate of Chinese Herbology, and Licensed Massage Therapist. She co-founded the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 1994 with Andrea Butje, where she taught Anatomy, Sports Massage, and Oriental Medical Theory. In addition to teaching she maintains a private practice in Acupuncture, Massage and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Prerequisites

Open to anyone. Bodywork background and technique experience is very helpful.
