Exploring Pine, Spruce, Fir and Helichrysum Species!
I just reviewed my notebook from the Component Blending class I took recently and feel so appreciative of the quality of the course materials. I wanted a chemistry class and was so pleased with my experience.
I am consistently impressed with the ongoing refinement of the education offered by Aromahead. The continuous updating of the research-based information provides such an incredible resource. And of course, I love, love, love the wonderful blends we get to create (especially the butters which I often neglect to make on my own.)
The Component Blending class takes place over a 3-day weekend and includes an in-depth study of the chemistry, therapeutic uses, and blending techniques for a wide selection of conifer (pine, spruce and fir) and helichrysum essential oil species.
Spend 3 days in the aroma of a pine forest!
Blending is approached from a chemical component perspective, looking at the evidence based medicinal components within the oil, and choosing oils based on this approach. The chemical families are considered, with an emphasis on the individual components.
Workshop Overview
Using both the energetic and chemical family approach, students will explore the individual components and therapeutic properties of the following groups of oils:
- Four species of Helichrysum.
- 15 species of Pine, Fir and Spruce.
Included Materials
Blending supplies, a detailed manual, carrier oils and essential oils will be provided for use in class. Learn to make your own cream, bar soap, resin incense and a cardamom salt butter scrub!
CEU's: This program is approved for Massage Therapy in New York, Florida and by NCBTMB for 21 hours.

Prerequisites
A background in the chemistry of Essential Oils is helpful.
