Citrus Oils: Top Notes Bursting with Potential

More than just cheerful aromas in your collection, citrus oils have powerful healing actions. Explore the potential of these humble, affordable, fabulous top notes!
Essential oils rich in d-limonene will be the focus of this blending weekend. Research on d-limonene demonstrates significant immune stimulating properties. We will create medicinal blends, within a holistic framework, aimed at supporting the vitality of the immune system.
Course Overview
Discover the simple and profound healing capacity of Lemon (Citrus limon), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia), Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi ), Orange (Citrus sinensis), Green Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) and Bergamot (Citrus bergamia). You’ll also learn to distinguish the various citrus oils utilizing a component approach.
The class will also take a closer look at Elemi (Canarium luzonicum), Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea), Silver Fir (Abies alba), Norway Pine (Pinus resinosa), White Pine (Pinus strobus) and Engelman Spruce (Picea engelmanii).
Students will create and take home a selection of products including:
- Throat spray.
- Slippery elm lozenges.
- Cough drops.
- Cream with hydrosols.
- Citrus body butters.
- Cone incense.
- Gel with hydrosols.
Additionally, students receive:
- A custom manual
- The use of therapeutic-grade organic and wildcrafted essential oils in class.
- An extensive list of resources for quality products.
- Information about various aromatherapy organizations and journals.
- Discounts on additional materials at Aromatics International.
CEU’s: This program is approved for Massage Therapy in New York, Florida and by NCBTMB for 14 hours.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of essential oil blending.
Required Materials
All in-class blending supplies, including essential oils, carriers and bottles are included in the tuition.
