This advanced Aromatherapy weekend will include a fun, aromatic and in-depth study of the chemistry and therapeutic uses of several less known essential oil species and chemotypes. We will also examine oils of the same genus and species from various countries of origin.

Using both the energetic and chemical family approach we will explore the current research and therapeutic properties of these oils. The essential oils to be covered in class include (but are not limited to) 3 species of Helichrysum, Lemongrass from 3 different countries of origin, and 15 species of Pine, Fir and Spruce. Blending supplies, a manual and all essential oils will be provided.

In addition, we will explore and blend with 6 different butters and 6 carrier oils. The emphasis will be on the texture, properties and therapeutic uses for these carriers. We will make various products with different carriers and butters to better understand how each ingredient effect the texture, aroma and quality of the final product.
