The ACP (Aromatherapy Certification Program) prepares students to become professionally qualified in the therapeutic uses of essential oils through an inspiring and intensive 15-day training. Students learn to confidently work with over 60 essential oils. The program is a fun and intensive learning experience. Graduates develop new careers in aromatherapy or compliment their existing healthcare practices by integrating the use of essential oils. Graduates also create essential oil retail businesses and online websites. No previous aromatherapy training is required. The Aromatherapy Certification Program was established in May of 2000. The National Association For Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) has national educational standards for Aromatherapists and approved the program to provide Aromatherapy Certification Training. To be certified through NAHA you must have 200 hours of training, including the following: Essential Oil Study History of Essential Oils Methods of Extraction Quality of Oils Methods of Absorption Carrier Oils Blending Techniques Methods of Application Safety and Contraindications | Consultation/ Communication Skills Treatment Design Business Skills Ethics Basic Aroma Chemistry and Botany Anatomy and Physiology Case Studies 5-10 Page Paper Final exam | Goals/objectives of the Aromatherapy Certification Program: - To prepare students to become qualified in the safe and therapeutic uses of essential oils through an inspiring and intensive training program.
- To help students develop a career or compliment existing healthcare practices with a clear understanding of the scope of aromatherapy practices.
- To give students a thorough working knowledge of the therapeutic and energetic aspects of at least fifty essential oils.
- To prepare students to confidently consult with clients and evaluate which essential oils would be appropriate to use and how to best use them.
- To instruct students in the creation of a variety of body care products for personal and professional use.
The Aromatherapy Certification Program has two options: - 200-hour Certification (for massage school graduates, LMTs, RNs and other health care professionals)
- Transfer in 76 hours from a previous Anatomy and Physiology course.
- Receive 124 hour certification from this program and NAHA certification.
- 124-hour Certification (for those without course work in anatomy and physiology)
- Receive 124 hour certification from this program
You may practice Aromatherapy with either certification. The program follows all federal guidelines regarding The American Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, including making the appropriate accommodations for the teaching, learning and examination process.
