Sarasota is a lovely, small coastal city located on the Gulf of Mexico just outside of the Tampa Bay area. Institute classes are held in a cozy home just two miles from the beautiful white sand beach of Siesta Key. There are plenty of great restaurants within a few miles of the house. The famous Selby botanical gardens, marina, and vibrant downtown district are just 20 minutes away. Students can easily indulge in evening activities such as movies, bookstores, art galleries, cafes, outdoor restaurants or walks on the beach.

Ithaca is in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.  The town is poised on Cayuga Lake, surrounded by several state parks, gorges and stunning waterfalls. In the summer, the abundance of flowers, farmers markets, cafes and hiking trails make Ithaca a destination for nature lovers, foodies and coffee connoisseurs.

We have a few classes in Ithaca each summer. Ithaca classes are held in a lovely house on four acres of beautiful rural land just 15 minutes from downtown Ithaca.

Here are some nearby attractions:

The Ithaca Farmers market, situated on the shores of Cayuga lake, is filled with organic vegetables, cheeses, and meats. While wandering the farmers market you can find high quality hand made crafts, clothing, pottery and jewelry.

Ithaca is home to the Aromahead Institute, The Finger Lakes School of Massage, the Namgyal Monastery, Cornell University , and Ithaca College,

You can find great museums, art galleries, hand made crafts and restaurants throughout the town and the region. The Cornell Plantations are a must for all plant lovers. Check out the Cornell Lab of Ornithology/Sapsucker Woods Sanctuary  a 220-acre wildlife sanctuary. The observatory features a thirty-foot wall of windows for viewing the bird-feeding garden.

The Finger Lakes are filled with wineries. A day driving on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail offers great wine and beautiful views along your drive.

Namgyal Monastery in Ithaca, is the North American Seat of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Open to all, Namgyal offers authentic teachings of Tibetan Buddhism in a traditional monastic setting. The monastery is just a few minutes from the Aromahead Institute.
