Writing a book is an adventure!

When I began writing Essential Living: Aromatherapy Recipes for Health and Home, I knew I wanted to offer recipes that I actually use. That way I could be sure they are practical and effective.

I leave my blends where I usually use them around the house. Cleaning products live in the kitchen and the bathroom, linen spray and sleep blends are in the bedroom, and blends for cold, flu and body aches are in the medicine chest. I wanted the book to be just as practical. So I organized the book the way I organize my home–the chapters are titled according to room, and the recipes are included in the relevant chapters.

I worked on Essential Living for a year. I went over it so many times I had it memorized! I had it professionally designed and edited. I thought I had covered all the bases. I had not.

It never occurred to me that there would be such a wide international interest in the book!

I used the standard US measurements of ounces rather than the metric system. Oops! I should have included both!

I’ve had so many questions about how to convert the oz to ml that I thought I would offer a chart here for easy conversion. I also added this chart to the eBook version of this book. (I love eBooks for this very reason!)

Without further ado, here’s the aromatherapy recipe conversion chart!

Metric conversation rocks! I wish the US would get on board with metric system. Thank for this chart Andrea!
