Cleanse and refresh your skin with this soap-free face wash!

If you follow the Aromahead Blog, you know I love coming up with new ways to cleanse and nourish skin without drying it out or stripping its nutrients.

Well, I have another beautiful aromatherapy recipe for you!

This recipe is for an all-natural, soap-free face wash.

First, let me say that I have used some wonderful soaps—and have even made them myself and shared recipes with you all. But I still prefer not to use soap on my face. I know a lot of people who are in the same boat. Their skin is just too sensitive for it.

So this soap-free face wash does the job of cleansing your skin, moisturizing it and healing it at the same time. The base ingredients are aloe vera gel and avocado oil.

I make this recipe right in a 2 oz (60 ml) PET plastic flip-top bottle (sometimes this is called a "disc top".

Ingredients

  • 1.5 fl oz (45 ml) Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis)

  • 0.5 fl oz (15 ml) Avocado oil (Persea gratissima)

  • 4 drops Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)

Directions

Fill 2 oz bottle with all ingredients! Shake well.

Just three ingredients, and you're done!

Aloe Avocado Soap Free Face Wash

To use this soap-free face wash, get your skin damp with warm water, the way you would normally do when washing your face. Put a little of the face wash on a cotton round and use it just like soap—spreading it all over your face in gentle massaging motions. Then rinse with warm water. The shelf life is about a month.

Aloe vera is one of the most gentle, healing skin care products in the world. Frankincense is one of my favorite essential oils for skin care. It helps cells repair themselves, even in scar tissue—which makes it a wonderful anti-aging agent (I love saying that—anti-aging agent!). Avocado oil, full of beneficial fatty acids, also promotes cell regeneration. It has deeply penetrative properties and helps the skin absorb the full benefits of the other ingredients.
