Case Study: Balance & Stress Relief With Aromatherapy

This example is an excerpt from a case study that is part of the experience of our Aromahead Certification Program.

Aromatherapy provides powerful support to an individual's health and well-being, as evidenced by this case study of a student who experienced tangible benefits when they added essential oil treatments into their client's routine. In addition to helping the person feel more relaxed and balanced, aromatherapy can also positively impact her physical ailments brought on by stress. 

Student: Becky
Client: Roberta is a 38-year-old executive whose job offers excitement and endless challenges. With her company constantly setting ever higher expectations, she knows how to stay focused - even when the pressure reaches dizzying heights!
Health: The client's job takes an immense physical and emotional toll on her, as evidenced by the high number of cold-like illnesses she has experienced in a relatively short period. These symptoms have made her feel tired and emotionally exhausted.
Blend Intention: This blend is designed to strengthen the immune system, reduce stress levels and help manage chronic viral illnesses while providing balance and equilibrium.
Modality: After careful consideration, an inhaler was selected for its ease of use and convenience.

Recipe:

Essential oils:
4 drops Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis)
4 drops Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi)
3 drops Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
2 drops of Vetiver Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides)

Directions:
This client was provided with an essential oil blend to help her manage stress. This aromatic combination will stimulate the immune system with d-limonene from sweet orange and grapefruit oils, calm emotions with linalool and linalyl acetate in the lavender oil, and impart a sense of stability and grounding from the vetiver root oil, allowing for better focus in moments when pressure builds up. Use it 3-4 times daily or whenever you need a soothing reset!

Results: 
After a week of use, the client experienced an increased sense of presence and well-being. She noted feeling more energized than usual and less prone to catching colds like other family members. It appears that following this advice allowed her body to relax, leading to physiological and psychological benefits.
