I am a passionate optimist committed to helping others improve themselves through the use of aromatherapy. Over the past nine years, I witnessedthe miracle of essential oils, first hand.I am grateful to have found Andrea at Aromahead where I pursued my Aromatherapy Certification this year.I have always been attracted to the therapeutic properties of plants and flowers but, even more so when I fell ill.My story begins nine years ago in Connecticut where the use of essential oils as part of natural healing and wellness was first introduced to me after my diagnosis with brain cancer.It was through my battle, that I turned anegativediagnosis into a learning journey.I started using oils to heal the emotional train wreck and physical (neuropathic) pain my body was enduring throughout cancer treatment.When Western medicine left my body ailing, and failed to improve any post-cancer symptoms. I began using Lavender for anxiety and Peppermint for my chronic pain and headaches. I began picking up oils at variety stores. This was only the beginning of my life- long study of essential oils, plants, aromatherapy and holistic healing.Aromahead taught me so much about thetherapeutic andphysical qualities, as well as the energetic qualities of essential oils; while allowing meobserve the oils induce comfort, stress relief, nurturing, pain/inflammation reduction, and more symptom relief, first hand, through the application of case studies.

I absolutely loved doing the case studies which are required for certification at Aromahead. This application taught me so much about thetherapeutic andphysical qualities, as well as the energetic qualities of essential oils; while allowing meobserve the oils induce comfort, stress relief, nurturing, pain/inflammation reduction, and more symptom relief, first hand.I found it helpful that the work was so "hands-on". I won't lie, I was hesitant to sign up for an "online class"but, this class doesn't skip a beat! I found myself making all of the recipes along with Andrea as I watched the videos on my laptop.I found the online Aromahead Forum helpful and insightful. I always got a response to my discussions/ questions/posts within 24 hours, and the responses were helpful. If a leader didn't have an answer to a question, I was sure to receive an email or phone call. The teachers make sure that you cannot fall behind.Finally, I found the final paper extremely meaningful. I was nervous at first, but it ties together everything I've learned from the content of the whole course. I appreciated writing it, enjoyed finding the research for it, and in the end the final paper becomes a resource that one can refer to and use for clients in the future.This certification was the best money I have ever invested in something for myself.
