Gloria Lewis
About me:
I have been a registered nurse for 34 years, and have been a palliative care and hospice nurse for over 15 years. I retired for the second time from Kaiser last year. I live in Antioch, CA with my partner and one of my sons. I have a daughter, three sons, and five grandchildren. I love teaching which is why I completed my doctorate in education, and taught in the nursing and health science programs for University of Phoenix. I have been using essential oils for myself and my family for several years. I am originally from Iowa and still have family in the Midwest. I believe learning is lifelong so I will continue on that path.
What I loved about Aromahead:
I loved the formal program at Aromahead. I believe the curriculum content and requirements provided the knowledge, competency, and skills needed to become a Certified Aromatherapist. There are a lot of individuals who offer information and recipes on the internet, and it appears many of them do not have any formal training, and that has serious complications. I am so thankful there are institutions like Aromahead. I found learning about the chemical families and the GC/MS to be very helpful and added significantly to my competency.
Sacred Essence
Sacred Essence will be the name of my Aromatherapy Consulting Service. I have not initiated my new business yet, but plan to offer my consulting services to palliative and hospice agencies. Additionally, part of my services will include presentations on how aromatherapy can help palliative care and hospice patients and the health care professionals and family who care for terminally ill patients.
