How certification works

Learn it. Practice it. Prove it.

The certification is a two-part program organized as three named stages. The names are the whole story.

Learn

The science, completed

Part 1 is the complete Essential Oil Specialist coursework. A Journey Through Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology (76 hours, a $595 value) shows you how oils work in harmony with the human body, and the Component Blending course (28 hours) deepens the chemistry. All of it is included in this bundle.

Practice

Real people, real blends

Part 2, Practical Experience, begins: your twenty mentored client case studies. You assess, blend, and report, and your personal case-study instructor, an advanced professional aromatherapist on our team, reads every report and answers with specific feedback.

Prove

The paper, the exams, the title

Practical Experience finishes here: research and write a paper on a topic you choose, then pass the written exam and the final certification exam. All of it lives inside the course, with your instructor beside you the whole way.

What it opens

What a Certified Aromatherapist may do.

  • Work with the public, and charge for it
  • Consult one-on-one and design custom blends
  • Sell the products you formulate
  • Teach the foundations to others
  • Join NAHA and AIA as a credentialed professional

The certification course alone is $2,195, and its Part 1 is the Specialist coursework, so the sum counts that coursework once. This bundle is $200 more than the course alone and adds $1,017 of coursework on top: Viruses & the Immune System, the three workshops, and Component Blending. About the hours: 261+ is the credit inside this bundle; with Natural Living behind you as well, the Certified Aromatherapist milestone puts 322+ hours on your path. The certification program itself carries 235 credentialed hours, comfortably clearing NAHA Level 2’s 200-hour requirement.

Done in company

The Certification cohort: continuers only.

Case studies, the paper, and the exam are demanding work, so you do them alongside people doing the same. The graded work itself lives inside the course; the cohort is the support layer around it, with live sessions and instructors in reach.

Included for first-time members

Three months of The Thriving Aromatherapist, included.

Thymely earns its keep at this milestone: the chemistry and safety questions your case studies raise have answers in the knowledge base, every GC/MS report and datasheet included. After your three months: $59/mo or $495/yr.

Whatever’s holding you back

Your questions, answered straight.

Is $2,395 the whole price?
Yes. $2,395 is the complete price: every course in the Specialist Bundle plus the certification work, in one purchase. Own the Specialist Bundle already? Email team@aromahead.com and we will build you a custom bundle of only what is new to you, with nothing you own charged twice. Have courses from years past? Build your own bundle by choosing any three or more courses from the course catalog, and receive 10% off at checkout.
Does this include the Natural Living courses?
No. Natural Living is its own bundle ($349) and its courses also sell on their own; nothing here assumes you took them. If you want both, the Scholars Program includes everything.
Do I actually need certification to practice aromatherapy?
In the US, aromatherapy is not regulated by the states or the federal government, so no license is required to practice. Certification is how you prove your skill: it lets you join NAHA and AIA as a professional, carry liability insurance, charge with confidence, and answer the question every client eventually asks.
What do NAHA and AIA actually mean?
The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists are the field’s two main US professional bodies. Each defines education levels; completing the Certification Bundle meets the education requirements for NAHA Level 2 and AIA Level 2. The word "Level" belongs to them, which is why our own four are milestones on one path.
I’m scared of the exam.
The exam is real, and so is the preparation. By the time you reach it you have worked through every topic it covers, with a personal instructor reading your work all the way. And two things take the fear out of it: the exam lives right inside the course, taken whenever you are ready, and you can retake it as many times as you need until you pass. The quizzes at the end of each module give you a real feel for how the exam asks its questions.
Where do I find clients for the case studies?
Friends, family, coworkers, and your community. The program guides you through recruiting them, and nobody fails for lack of strangers.
How long will it really take?
Eight to twelve months from start is the guided pace, alongside work and family. It is self-paced beyond that, with lifetime access, so the timeline bends around your life.
I already own the Specialist Bundle, or courses from years past. What do I pay?
Only what is new to you: that is how the path is designed. Own the Specialist Bundle already? Email team@aromahead.com with the email you study under, and we will build you a custom bundle of only what is new to you, with nothing you own charged twice, usually within a day. Have courses from years past? Build your own bundle by choosing any three or more courses from the course catalog, and receive 10% off at checkout. Either way, everything you own stays yours, and every credit hour keeps counting.
I trained at another school. Which price do I pay?
The complete price: $2,395 covers every course in the Specialist Bundle plus the certification work. Aiming just for the credential? The certification course on its own is $2,195 and fully self-contained: the coursework the exams are built on, plus all the credential work. Custom bundles are for students who already own Aromahead courses. Your prior hours still matter: email team@aromahead.com and we will help you work out what carries.
Should I take the Bundle or the certification course only?
The honest steer: the Certification Bundle is $200 more than the course alone and adds Viruses & the Immune System, three workshops, and Component Blending, about $1,000 of additional coursework. Both include the Certification cohort and 3 free months of membership (first-time members). Choose the course only if you want the credential and nothing else.
Can I afford it?
The Certification Bundle is $2,395, or 6 monthly payments of $415, with longer plans at checkout. And the 7-day refund policy means the decision is not final for a week.
Is this recognized outside the US?
NAHA and AIA recognition travels well, and Aromahead students study in more than 150 countries. IFPA, the UK-based body, continues at the Clinical milestone, with the Scholars Program.
The next milestone

Certification helps people who are well. Clinical helps people who are unwell.

Some day a client will ask about chemotherapy, pregnancy, or a complex illness, and you will feel the edge of your training. The Scholars Program removes that ceiling: advanced graduate work, clinical mentorship, and the education requirements for the highest credentials in the field. Own the Certification Bundle already? Email team@aromahead.com and we will build you a custom bundle of only what is new to you, with nothing you own charged twice.
